Hi Everyone
It is amazing what a little warmer weather can do for all of our spirits. More shoppers were out and we sold out of many things in just a few days. It was so nice to see so many of you, but I feel bad when we run out of products so soon. One of my reps always tells me not to worry, I will never get the guessing game of ordering down right. Ha he is so right. There are still products and produce I have not been able to get back in the store due to this past year of Covid issues, but I continue to bring back the favorites as I can get them. I know many are waiting for the Super Acerola Vitamin C. I still have no estimated time frame for getting them back. Great news, a digestive enzyme called Mega Zyme is finally back in as of today. We have been out for a few months. There is still a problem with many suppliers of obtaining the glucosamine supplements. It looks like the dairy free yogurt KiteHill will not be arriving again this week. It has not been available the past two weeks. I am bringing in a couple new sparkling waters to try and a new milk salsa. Muir Glen organic mild salsa has not been available for awhile but it looks like maybe I will be able to get it back in the coming weeks. I want to thank everyone that stopped by to shop, offered loans and made donations this past week. We are so fortunate to live in such a great community and extended community that has put their trust in us. We are still taking applications for part time staffing for 15-20 hours per week. Hi Everyone
If you haven't looked at our website recently, please take the time to check out all of the improvements made weekly. It has a new face lift along with the product catalog. At this time, you are able to add items to your list but apologize for not being able to send that list by e-mail. There is an extra monthly charge for that feature and until we know there is enough interest, we are holding off on that expense. Please send your input as to whether this would be a help for your orders. Looking at the website, I was reminded of a Membership option that I haven't reminded you about. * A one year membership from the month of purchase is only $25/household With winter sales down, if anyone is able to help out the co-op with an interest free loan, we have the following options: * 1 year free membership with a 1- year interest free loan of $1,000 *2 years free membership with a 2-year interest free loan of $2,000 *5 years free membership with a 3-year interest free loan of $5,000 Also, I want to thank all of you that continue to use our credit voucher system. To those new to the co-op, for every $98 voucher purchased you receive $100 credit for future purchases. This helps our co-op with more cash on hand for purchasing inventory and you do not have to worry about carrying your card or checkbook. We have not yet started the interviews for the two part-time positions needing to be filled, so if you are interested in joining the staff, please pick up an application at the co-op or on our website. A variety of hours are needed to be filled including Saturdays in the spring. We have a delivery of Bare Chicken fillets and boneless thighs arriving Wednesday morning. They arrive as a refrigerated item and we freeze them right away. If you are interested in a package of either that are not frozen let me know before 9 am and I will keep them refrigerated. We have a good supply of the whole chicken and bone-in thighs in stock that are frozen. We also have a limited supply of pasture raised, non-gmo fed pork from the Crowe farm of Luck. We have pork chops, sausage both original and Italian and pork hocks for soup. All of the following produce are organic unless listed as local. We have no way of knowing until we unload Wednesday morning if the shipment has survived the cold from tonight on the truck. Crossing our fingers that we have all of the produce listed below. The extreme cold we are enduring since the weekend and the forecast for Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday of this week, led me to a decision of not placing the regular weekly order this week. Our truck leaves the warehouse in the early hours of Tuesday morning and is on the truck overnight until it arrives Wednesday morning. My past experience with this extreme cold is that most of the produce is frozen and even some of the grocery items frozen and broken. With this in mind I did not make the order but will have a truck as usual for next week. It will still be cold next week but not the extreme below zero temps as we have this week. We have a good stock of most of the staple organic produce like celery, spinach, mixed greens, kale and romaine but we will not have bananas and tomatoes. We have a few bunches of bananas left as of this morning. Slippery Hills Farm will be delivering their hydroponic lettuces on Wednesday as usual. A new batch of microgreens were delivered Monday. I am sorry for any inconveniences but if the produce arrived frozen and is not saleable, we still would not have it for sale. Hopefully this is our last severe cold spell for this winter. We have not yet started the interviews for the part-time positions so if you are interested in joining the staff, please pick up an application at the co-op or on our website.
